This Year at Fun Rec!

This year Fun Rec will not look the same as it usually does due to COVID-19 protocols we need to implement to ensure we are prioritizing the safety of our community.

We are limiting enrolment to 50 campers per week.

Camp is now back to running 5 days per week 9am-3pm, Monday-Friday.

Typical COVID-19 protocols will be implemented, with stringent cleaning schedules, interactions limited to very small groups, and social distancing.

Camp will still be held at Stoney Creek Community School during the day. During camp we have use of the class rooms, the Community Room, the gymnasium, a kitchen and the surrounding fields and playgrounds. Each week has a different theme, to which many of our activities and crafts are built around and we will conclude each week with a Special Event or Field Trip!

The regulations and rules surrounding COVID-19 are always changing. We are doing our best to ensure that we can run our program in a safe way so that we are able to provide this service to our community. We appreciate your patience as we continue to adapt together to these challenging times.

A Brief History of Fun Rec

Fun Rec is a summer recreation program that has been offered to the children of this community since 1982. The Northeast Burnaby Community Association (NEBCA) has kept the cost of registration well below the cost of running this fun packed program so that everyone in our community has the chance to attend summer camp.

At Fun Rec, we aim to help develop social and physical skills in a fun and safe environment. Activities include but are not limited to sports, crafts, music, cooking, and drama. Children who attend must be between the ages 5 (having completed kindergarten) and 13 (having completed grade 7) years of age.
