We’re excited to welcome campers back for another unforgettable summer at Fun Rec Day Camp 2026! Each week features a unique theme that shapes our activities and crafts, all leading up to a theme day on Thursdays and field trip to wrap up the week.
Fun Rec Day Camps run 5 days per week 9am-3:30pm, Monday-Friday for 7 weeks during the summer school break.
Camps are held at Stoney Creek Community School during the day. During camp we have use of the class rooms, the Community Room, the gymnasium, a kitchen and the surrounding fields and playgrounds.

📚 Rec’n’Read is Back!
We’re thrilled to bring back Rec’n’Read, our 4-week intensive summer literacy program.
This beloved program ran successfully for 18 years before being paused in 2020 due to COVID-19. It returns this summer to support young readers in our community.
Rec’n’Read combines:
- Morning literacy instruction led by a BC-certified teacher
- Afternoon recreation with the Fun Rec
- Weekly Friday out trips with Fun Rec
This program is designed for children aged 6–7 who are struggling readers and would benefit from additional support over the summer.
Please note: Rec’n’Read is teacher-recommended only. Families cannot register without a teacher invitation.
For more information, visit Rec’n’Read.

A Brief History of Fun Rec
Fun Rec is a summer recreation program that has been serving children in our community since 1982. The Northeast Burnaby Community Association (NEBCA) is committed to keeping registration fees as affordable as possible so that all families have the opportunity to participate in this fun, enriching program.
This is made possible in part through funding support from Canada Summer Jobs and the BC Gaming Grant, which help us offset program costs while maintaining a high-quality camp experience.
