Rec’n’Read Summer Program

PLEASE NOTE: Due to COVID-19, We are unfortunately unable to facilitate our Rec’n’Read program at this time.

LOOKING FOR A GREAT SUMMER READING PROGRAM FOR YOUR CHILD?

NEBCA’s Rec’n’Read program at Stoney Creek Community School offers a combination of both recreation and reading for children in Grades 1-3 who could benefit from extra reading instruction through the summer.

Students spend four mornings a week in a reading program with a B.C. certified teacher, and then join Fun Rec in the afternoons for the recreation portion.

To wrap up each week, the students will join Fun Rec on their full-day field trips by chartered bus to local attractions, such as the Vancouver Aquarium, the Telus World of Science, and Watermania!

Rec’n’Read typically runs for the first four weeks of July, starting directly after school is out at the end of June. It costs $TBD for the entire month of activities (camp t-shirt included)!

Hurry! There are limited spaces available and they will fill up fast!

To register, please stop by the Community Office at Stoney Creek Community School, and pick up a registration form. Registration requires a teacher’s recommendation, so if you think your child may benefit, ask their teacher to recommend them!
